About Us

The Department of Sociology's four-year undergraduate program is designed to develop students' capacity to understand social phenomena and produce critical analysis. In addition to covering the core theoretical topics and research methods of sociological analysis, the program provides a broad cultural foundation. Students can take courses that prepare them to work in various institutional settings in the fields of teaching, research, and administration. Students in our department also have the opportunity to pursue a double major with the Departments of Economics, History, Philosophy, Law, Western Languages and Literatures, Political Science and International Relations, and Psychology.
